ASN & SG launch climate impact equity fund

ASN Impact Investors and Startgreen Capital will launch the Climate Impact Strategy investing in energy transition infrastructure in the Netherlands.

The fund invests through shares and equity instruments in local projects with proven technologies that accelerate the energy transition and circular economy. Examples include projects around grid management, battery technology and green hydrogen, but also circular production, EV infrastructure and energy efficiency of buildings. Projects that make the energy infrastructure of the Netherlands CO2 neutral and energy independent. Circular projects that reduce dependency on critical raw materials.

ASN Impact Investors is introducing the Climate Impact Equity fund firstly and the Climate Impact funds for junior debt and senior debt will follow later this year. The aim of the strategy is to grow to a size between €500 million and €1 billion.

Erhan Yildiz, Investment Director StartGreen Capital, said, “The momentum for local projects is enormous. The Netherlands must become CO2 neutral as quickly as possible. We must also make the country less dependent on foreign, fossil energy as quickly as possible. The Dutch government and the European Commission are ambitious with measures to stimulate the development of and investments in essential energy technology. This creates many investment opportunities.”
