Two former JP Morgan credit bankers have launched an impact investment advisory firm focusing on emerging market infrastructure.
ImpactA Global will target new projects through a debt fund investing in renewable energy, mobility and health and sanitation in Latin America, Africa and South Asia. ImpactA will provide the first 5% to 15% of debt for projects worth about $100 million to $300 million and starts with a minority stake from Legal & General Capital.
Isabella da Costa Mendes, ImpactA’s co-chief executive officer and co-founder Victoria Miles, both come from JP Morgan.
Laura Mason, CEO at Legal & General Capital, says, “We are delighted to become a significant minority shareholder in ImpactA, and look forward to working in partnership with the ambitious, impact-driven investment advisory firm. This new partnership forms part of Legal & General Capital’s established mandate to take strategic minority GP stakes in managers of alternative assets, a model which we have successfully employed in other sectors, notably European credit through our investment in Pemberton and European sustainable energy through our partnership with NTR.”
