Wellington Management has released its 2021 sustainability report.
The report outlines the firm’s significant investments and milestones in sustainable investing and operational efforts. Highlights include:
• Wellington reduced its total Scopes 1, 2, and 3 operational emissions by 18% between 2020 and 2021 and since setting its benchmark in 2014, these emissions have fallen by 75%.
• During 2021, the Climate Research Team reviewed physical climate-risk exposures of 540 companies (with a total of 1,600 reviewed to date), based on materiality of physical climate-risk exposure.
• In 2021, Wellington signed a purchase power agreement to match 100% of electricity usage from the firm’s US offices and 100% of employees’ home electricity usage with renewable energy.
• In 2021, Wellington launched a proprietary net-zero dashboard, enabling investment teams to analyse climate transition risks
