HSBC hires head of sustainable infrastructure

HSBC has announced the appointment of Christian Deseglise as Group Head of Sustainable Infrastructure and Innovation.

Deseglise was previously Head of Sustainable Finance and Investments in Global Banking and Markets at HSBC. He will now be responsible for sustainable infrastructure solutions and the development of ventures in support of the bank’s $1 trillion commitment to the net zero transition. He helped launch the FAST-Infra Sustainable Infrastructure Label at COP26 – a labelling system designed to identify and evaluate sustainable infrastructure assets.

The appointment comes as the bank makes a series of sustainability-related appointments which also include Chris Webb as Group Head of Carbon Markets and Natalie Blyth as its Global Head of Commercial Banking Sustainability.
