China may merge with EU on green taxonomies

China’s central bank has said it is working with the EU to converge green investment taxonomies across the two markets.

According to the Financial Times, Yi Gang, the governor of the People’s Bank of China, has said the goal of the central bank over the next five years was to implement and standardise a green finance system in the country in co-ordination with global partners. As such, says the FT, “The head of the central bank said China is working with the EU to push for greater convergence of taxonomies of green finance and investments”.
