A new survey from CoreData Research has found that 73% of UK fund buyers believe all funds will incorporate ESG within five years.
The figure compares with a global average of 63%, 72% in Europe and 50% in the US and Canada. The survey of 200 professional global fund buyers also found that 60% of investors have increased their emphasis on ESG during the pandemic.
The survey showed ESG is most prevalent in the UK with 81% of respondents saying they had increased their commitment to ESG. 50% of all respondents said ESG funds tend to outperform compared with only 31% in the US and Canada. 77% of UK fund buyers believe greenwashing will become more of a problem as demand for ESG increases, compared to 80% of global respondents.
