Smurfit Kappa cuts emissions by third

Smurfit Kappa has published its latest sustainability report outlining a 33% drop in CO2 emission since 2005.

The paper and packaging company’s 2019 Sustainable Development Report says it cut CO2 emissions by 33% between 2005 and 2019 and plans to cut emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2005. The firm says its strategy is now aligned with the Paris Agreement and the recommendations of the latest climate science findings. The report says that emissions have been reduced through the more efficient use of energy and the use of renewable energy sources such as biomass.
