Kenya’s first green bond has been launched by the UK’s international development secretary Alok Sharma.

East Africa’s first green bond was issued this week on the Kenyan securities exchange and was developed with the help of British aid. The bond will be used for Acorn Housing to raise funds for environmentally-friendly student accommodation in Nairobi.
