Invesco quits climate action group

Invesco has become the latest investment firm to leave the Climate Action 100+ coalition.

The move follows JPMorgan, State Street and Pimco who have all left the group recently as resistance from Republicans in the US follows claims that Climate Action 100+’s aims may breach anti trust laws.

Invesco has said in a statement that it had, “after careful consideration…decided to withdraw from the Climate Action 100+ initiative as we believe our clients’ interests in this area are better served through our existing investor-led and client-centric issuer engagement approach”.
