Columbia Threadneedle adds ESG equity fund

Columbia Threadneedle Investments has launched the CT Sustainable Global Equity Income Fund.

The fund consists of a portfolio of 30-50 stocks and targets a yield in excess of its MSCI ACWI benchmark and is managed by global equities portfolio manager Nick Henderson. It looks to identify companies who stand to benefit from or contribute to trends in sustainable development. Henderson and his team have identified seven persisting ‘megatrends’ including energy transition, health and wellbeing and sustainable cities, which CT says will provide long-term tailwinds to well-placed companies.

Nick Henderson says, “The launch of this Fund represents an important new development in the sustainable investing landscape. Whilst there are numerous sustainable fund options on the market, we believe that income is the differentiator of our Sustainable Global Equity Income Fund at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. The fund’s focus on sustainability leaders will result in a differentiated portfolio to traditional global equity income funds.”
