Corporate issuance of ESG bonds rose more than three-fold in the first half of 2021.

Total issuance in the first half of 2021 reached $256.8 billion, up 3.4 times the total seen in the first half of 2020. The most popular ESG bonds are green bonds with issuance of $162.8 billion, 63% of the total.

Europe saw the most ESG corporate bond issuance with $121.4 billion, 47% of the global total.
