Simon Jeffery

Simon is a soil microbial ecologist with expertise in soil functions and sustainable agriculture. His main interests are in ecosystem functioning and in particular how soil organisms drive processes and functions across a range of scales from local to global. His work has been focused on understanding such processes with the aim of harnessing them to the benefit of us all in terms of increasing the productivity and sustainability of our use of soils. He has published numerous reviews and meta-analyses using a range of evidence synthesis and statistical techniques. Simon is a member of the British Soil Science Society, Global Soil Biodiversity Initiative, and the Centre for Evidence-Based Agriculture (CEBA).
