Leaders in ESG performance and reporting

European ESG Leaders are the best companies listed on European exchanges in ESG performance and reporting as voted for by institutional investors, fund managers and analysts.

ESG Leaders Categories 

A company is designated a “Leader” if it is voted as one of the best three in its sector:

Best Overall Sustainability Performance

Most Improved Sustainability Performance

Best Climate Transition Performance

Contributors

Votes are obtained from multiple financial and independent sources:

• Institutional investors
• Fund managers
• ESG and sustainability analysts
• Equity analysts
• Academics

The European ESG Leaders 2021 will be announced on our website on 1 February 2021. Companies designated a European ESG Leader will be informed on 25 January 2021.

Voting
We invite contributors to vote on companies across 15 sectors on their ESG performance and reporting. Contributors can vote for up to three companies in each sector. The three companies in each sector with the most votes in each category are designated European ESG Leaders.

Votes should be based on a company’s current ESG performance and reporting.

Contributions to the survey are made online via our website and can either be anonymous or with the contributor name and/or company name included.
